Vegan/Gluten Free Peanut & Almond Butter Eggs

With Easter right around the corner, I’m brought back to memories of my childhood when Reese’s peanut butter eggs are stocked on every supermarket’s shelves. When I was younger, in the neighborhood my siblings and I lived in, there was an elderly lady who […]

Review: Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil

Review: Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil

I’m a bit late to join this bandwagon but last year this oil was all the rage. And for good reasons! With that being said, this is obviously going to be a good review so let’s get to it!

This product is gorgeous in so many ways. From the packaging to the color and honestly to the smell. My god that smell. When i went to Sephora to first see this for myself I opened the bottle and instantly got a big ol whiff of something green. I had to take a step back and catch my breath for a second. It’s quite a strong scent. The best word to describe it would be earthy. It smells very much like the color! But with all of the claims associated with this it was easy to put the smell aside and just give it a try. Besides, so many others have used and loved it and got past the smell, so I can too.

Now to the claims

You can check this out on Sephora as well as reviews, info, and ingredients. For reference, i have dry combination skin eighty percent of the time but very dry the rest. Recently though I’ve been experiencing lots of texture and more breakouts than ever. So i was very intrigued by this and all the great reviews!

So the info page on Sephora’s website says this is good for ALL skin types. It’s a dry oil with 1.5 percent salicylic acid and is supposed to relieve you from acne, blackheads and diminish the look of pores. I’ve tried a few acne products for the occasions I’ve experienced breakouts and I find they tend to dry my skin out so hearing of an oil that is also medicated to treat the skin was an exciting find! The main ingredients include Tea Tree Oil (which is a natural anti-bacterial), black seed oil – which both help to clear the skin, and licorice to brighten the skin. Milk thistle and cucumber seed oil help to nourish the skin and even reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Crazy, right!? There are a ton of claims behind this guy. So did it hold up to them?

Round up

So as I said, my initial reaction to this was to the smell. It’s very strong and earthy but it absorbs so quickly you barely notice it once its on and over time you will hardly notice it at all. I’ve actually grown to like the smell. As far as clearing up my skin I can definitely say my skin is better than it’s been in a while. I’ve been experiencing random breakouts and lots of texture which I didn’t ever really have issues with up until recently. Most of breakouts had disappeared completely after two days of use and constant use at night and some mornings depending on how my skin was feeling has kept any breakouts away. I literally have not gotten a pimple since I started using this. It’s incredible. I only wish my pores had shrunk but unfortunately I noticed no difference in that area.

All in all, this is a really great product. It definitely helped with acne and blemishes and brightened my skin exponentially. If you experience acne at all or texture and have some spare change (a whopping $80 to be exact!) i would def make the splurge.
